Mr. Marvel and Mrs. Ash will collaboratively manage this site. It is designed to give all PE and Health students a place where they can go to work on class projects together without being in the same room! Sounds cool huh?
Since both teachers are beginning the final project for Semester One, we thought this would be a great place to go to introduce the assignment, so here goes:
With the conclusion of our Tobacco unit in health class right around the corner, we want to announce the project now so you can begin your work. We will be doing class debates on a given topic and you will be expected as a group to do research outside of our class time together and share that research with your team. This wiki will allow you to share your findings any time (instead of just in class). You will need to bring in your artifacts though to receive credit from your teachers. All artifacts have to be "cited." The debate will be on Thursday and Friday (weather permitting), so you have 3 days to work together to establish your sides arguments. More specific questions can be brought up in class or through email (rmarvel@egsc.k12.in.us or cash@egsc.k12.in.us). Good Luck! Here is your topic:
Insurance companies charge smokers a higher premium than non-smokers. Is this a fair practice? Your groups have already been established, you've just been waiting on the topic. Use this site to share. An intro to the site will be demonstrated in class.
